I’m opening a shop!
Mr Robertson begs to intimate
I have always wanted to have a shop.
One of my dreams is to have a shop that sells a mixture of antiques, ephemera and good stationery. When you walk into this dream shop you’d say, “how long have you been here, it must be a hundred years”. There would be mahogany fitted cabinets with brass fittings, printed papers to wrap things in and of course a tuneful bell on the door. My newspaper advertisements would begin as many 19th century ads began, Mr Robertson ‘begs to intimate’.
My shop would be called ‘Randy for Antique’ - stealing the line from Philip Larkin’s poem ‘Church Going’. The line is proceeded by the equally brilliant description ‘ruin bibber’. I digress...
I’m not quite at the stage of a permanent shop yet but from 10th to 20th June I’m opening a pop-up antique shop in Bridge Street in Berwick-upon-Tweed.
I’ve been having serious clear-out of my store, house and studio and very excited to see it all gathered together in a shop.
There’ll be furniture, antiques, pictures, books, ephemera and other bits and bobs. Follow me on instagram to keep up to date with whats heading for the shop!
My shop will be at 54 Bridge Street, Berwick-upon-Tweed, TD15 1AQ and will be open Wednesday 10th – Saturday 13th and from Wednesday 17th – Saturday 20th June from 10am to 4pm.
